Interview with Kate Machado, RDN
We recently chatted with Kate Machado, registered dietitian nutritionist from San Diego who wants to bring awareness to how eating disorders can easily stem from chronic conditions.
We’ve been talking for a while now about adding an official new interview series to our blog – one where we chat with different specialists on a huge range of topics (all falling under the umbrella of health and wellness). We figured that it would be useful and interesting to go right to the source and chat with the experts themselves – we are very excited about it!
Expect more interviews to come, but for now, we’re thrilled to present our first installment in our interview series!
Kate is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Therapist who helps individuals, families, and groups learn to have better relationships with food, exercise and their bodies. She has worked with hundreds of individuals, athletes, teams, and families over the past 14 years in practice in California.
Kate received a Bachelors of Science in Nutritional Science at UC Berkeley. She received her Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition as well as completed her Dietetic Internship at Cal State Long Beach. She then began working in Eating Disorder treatment centers at all levels of care. The therapeutic approaches she learned while working at Residential Treatment, PHP, IOP, and Transitional Living Facility for those with Eating Disorders are what most influenced her direct and compassionate communication style with clients and other team members.
Kate’s extensive work in the field of eating disorder has earned her the credential of CEDRD, or Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). She is also able to provide professional supervision to others.
Kate offers personalized nutrition counseling (even if you live out of state). Check out her website: https://www.sdnutritiongroup.com for more information!
